The Suitable Test Software Engineer will be performing a multi-skilled role being proficient in Java and have experience of data transfer, data integration and middleware and database technologies.

The Senior Test Engineer will work with users to understand their requirements and then support the design, development and configuration of solutions using the appropriate architectural components. The Test Engineer will understand the data flowing into the system and be able to manipulate and combine the many data flows using the appropriate technologies to develop dashboards, interactive displays and search facilities to enable users to identify potential cyber threats. You will also provide in-life support for investigation and resolution of application problems.

The Test Engineer will be responsible for testing the software, working with the rest of the team, you'll design and build automated test frameworks. You'll build test plans in conjunction with The technical delivery manager and execute those plans, carrying out root cause analysis and troubleshooting in order to enable fixes to be made. The test engineer will also report on testing metrics to demonstrate software quality and improvements in right first time at the point of release.

As an experienced software engineer you will be expected to provide an analytical and innovative input to projects, within a clear framework of accountability. As well as being competent in your own area, you will also assist in the definition of strategy and process improvements. You will feed into best practices to be followed by the team in order to have a positive impact on the business. You may be required to oversee and direct the work of others.

You'll need to be capable of quickly understanding new technologies and establishing best practice for their use. You'll ensure that all work conforms to our software engineering standards. You may need to support out of hours software deployments.

Network Specialist/Network Support Engineer

Tech-Horizon Ltd - Cardiff CF10

  • Designing and maintain Multi-tier LAN environments, primarily using Cisco ASA, Netgear and HP switches, and routers

  • Architecture including Hyper-V, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policy, alongside application based services with the use and integration of Exchange Server, SQL Server.

  • Providing Desktop Support to Clients using Windows 7, 8 & 8.1 little work on Apple Macs

  • VPN- Hub and spoke site-to-site implementation using IPSEC, as well as PPTP using CHAP.

  • Wireless LAN Development using HP, D-LINK Ubiquiti and Netgear Access Points

  • Deploying private cloud based network infrastructure, using VMWARE ESXi, migrating client networks into a virtual environment, in-house and data center based.

  • Vendor based Certification Preferred like CCNP or CCNA
